After graduating from Taylor University with a B.A. in Fine Arts in 2015, I moved to Chicago. In the following years, I worked as a dental assistant, barista, and customer support specialist by the day and an artist by night. I currently manage databases part-time and paint the rest of the day. I'm looking to pursue further education through grad school and residencies.
If these past few year have taught me anything, it's first that my opportunity to make art is a privilege, and second that art is a necessary force for the maintenance of a community or a society. Art is the balm after a long day's work, the marriage of intellect and sensuality, the vehicle of an incommunicable emotion, a place apart of peaceful purposelessness. When we find all of our needs met, we turn to find art both expanding and filling the void of our desire.
